发布时间:2025-11-23

On November 19th, the 2nd NPU Kazakhstan Branch Campus (hereinafter referred to as Branch Campus) Forum on Information and Communication Engineering was successfully held in Almaty. Vice President Yue Xiao Kui of Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), Margulan Ibraimov, Vice President of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazakhNU), Kong Jie, Director of the Office of International Cooperation, Dean of the International College, and President of the Kazakhstan Branch, Nurzada Beissen, Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology at KazakhNU, along with over 20 university leaders, experts, and scholars from China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Belarus, as well as more than 30 young faculty members and students from various nations attended the meeting.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Yao Rugui, Vice Dean of the School of Electronics and Information (SEI) of NPU. Yue Xiaoquai delivered the opening address, emphasizing that information and communication engineering, as the core driving force behind the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation, is now facing unprecedented development opportunities. He expressed hope that the Branch Campus would serve as a platform to further deepen cooperation between China and Central Asian countries in scientific research and talent cultivation. Margulan Ibraimov expressed hope that this forum would strengthen communication, mutual trust, and collaboration between experts and young scholars. Nurzada Beissen and Kong Jie jointly expressed their expectation that the KazakhNU and the Branch Campus would continue to uphold the principles of openness and collaboration, striving to establish themselves as a high-level education and research center in the field of information and communication engineering in Central Asia.

Following the opening ceremony, six experts and scholars from institutions including Karshi State Technical University, KazakhNU, and Moscow Aviation Institute delivered insightful presentations on topics such as synthetic aperture radar remote sensing signal processing, integrated avionics systems for unmanned aerial vehicles, and AI-driven antenna innovation. They shared cutting-edge advancements in the cross-disciplinary application of information technology.

In the afternoon, Hou Jun, Party Secretary of SEI at NPU, and Yerulan Sagidolda, Head of the Department of Electronics and Astrophysics at KhazakhNU, delivered speeches. They encouraged young faculty and students to boldly explore, actively integrate into the China-Central Asia scientific research cooperation network, and closely align personal growth with regional development needs. Subsequently, six scholars from institutions including NPU, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, and Belarusian State University delivered insightful presentations on topics of intelligent modeling of complex information systems, electromagnetic anti-jamming for unmanned aerial vehicles, and high-precision navigation using the BeiDou satellite system.

After the meeting, the supervisors from NPU engaged in productive discussions with Branch Campus students enrolled in the 2025 joint program, focusing on academic progress and thesis proposal. Through the exchange, supervisors gained insights into students' learning dynamics and established preliminary directions for thesis topics, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent high-quality completion of the Proposal.

On November 20, the delegation from SEI had in-depth exchanges with the research team from the Department of Electronics and Astrophysics at KazakhNU and with Dean Norkobilov Salim Abdukhamidovich of the Faculty of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence at Karshi State Technical University regarding further collaboration in scientific research and talent development. During the meeting with the KazakhNU team, both sides refined detailed plans for cooperation in areas such as student recruitment, scientific research, and student development, establishing clear timelines and expected objectives. In discussions with the delegation from Karashi State Technical University, both parties explored proposals for short-term academic exchanges and study visits involving faculty and students, laying a solid foundation for subsequent collaborations.

The organization and planning of this forum has received the full guidance and support of the Branch Campus and the Graduate School, and has received widespread attention. The KazakhNU promptly reported the successful hosting of this forum on its official website. Building upon the achievements of the first event, this forum not only expanded the breadth of participation but also deepened the level of discussion. It further advanced academic exchanges and cooperation with multiple overseas institutions, and promoted the cultivation of high-level talent and the development of disciplines in the field of information and communication engineering.
